  • 13 year old shot by neighbor

    http://bostonherald.com/news/nationa...ving_trash_can

Basically, this man accused his 13 year old neighbor of a robbery that happened while the boy was in school. While the boy's mother was telling the man to leave her son alone, he pulls out his gun and shoots the boy in the chest.

I seriously wanted to thrown my laptop against the wall as I read that. And you know what's terrible, I'm just so sure that if I try to talk to some people I know about how terrible this is, just like with Trayvon Martin, I'm going to get a shrug of the shoulders and told "This kind of thing happens all the time, it shouldn't be big news."

That attitude is so disturbing to me, and I shouldn't have to explain why. And this shit just makes me so angry, and yet feel so helpless. Ugh. Fuck everything.

Pretty clear case of 1st degree murder. I can't think of any possible argument coming from the neighbor to explain how this was a legal shooting.

Ignore the comments on this one (as with most of these sites >_> ).

If true, I'd like to know why a shooting victim was left on a sidewalk for 2 hours while his mother was questioned in a squad car. Except that that would be for the same reason my brother watched a Hispanic gang member bleed to death on the street while the Santa Ana police refused to let the paramedics do their jobs until an hour later. >_<

Also, that report (and others) mentions that the police searched the victim's home. Again. But allowed family of his murderer into the man's house despite it being a crime scene.

It should not be happening at all. That's why it's news; there's a problem, and attention must be brought to it or things will not change.

It's disturbing to me, honestly. Twice now (at least) an older white man has shot a black teen. Neither time was the teen any threat to the other man. There is no reason for this at all; it's just bigotry. It's sick, and it needs to stop.

The defense will probably try some story about how the murderer is in the beginning stages of alzheimers or dementia and perceived the teen as a threat. How harsh are they really going to treat an elderly man, right? Accusations like this and deciding to take someone's life into your own hands like this makes me sick.
