The lawsuit filed April 24 alleges Migliaccio's errant throw was intentional and reckless, "assaulted and battered" Lloyd and caused "severe, painful and permanent" injuries.

For real? This kid just decided, "Hmm, I don't like this lady, so I'm going to throw a baseball at her." Is that what we're meant to believe?

And these jackasses started sending threatening letters to an 11 year old? I just don't get it.

I daresay that the douchebags are hoping the homeowner's insurance will step in and insist on a settlement. The other suits will vanish the instant they get a check. Just another reason for tort reform.

With any luck at all, the plaintiffs in this case will do as well as he did.

Roy Pearson, the plaintiff in the notorious "Great American Pants Suit," not only wound up getting nothing in the lawsuit verdict, but he actually lost his job as an administrative judge (along with a $100,000 salary) because of it.

Honestly, that man self-destructed about as completely as I've ever seen anyone do. He did pretty much everything possible to ensure that nobody would take him seriously as a lawyer or a judge ever again.

A friend of mine at work got hit about 4 times by the same baseball. A teenager (around 14 or 15) knocked the shit out of it from a separate field and it flew over the dividing walls, over her head, bounced off her hand, smacked her in the forehead, and then bounced down her arm. She was actually knocked out from the hit to the head and had to be taken to the hospital.

She told the park owners that if they paid her medical bills, she wouldn't sue. She wouldn't even dream of suing the teenager who hit the ball, because no sane person would.

The couple in the article are idiots looking for some easy money. I can see suing for medical costs, but not suing the KID. Sue the park, for fucks sake - that's what insurance is for. (And I think it's horseshit that their insurance "only includes personnel." If you have a park where accidents are sure to happen - to spectators, players, and personnel alike - then you make sure your ass is fully covered. I think the park is just hoping they can get out of this one unscathed.)
