    9 Year Old Too Good To Play Ball?

    Now, is it a safety issue, or is there some sort of backlash because the kid didn't play on the "premier" team of the group? I would rather see the kid moved up a notch to the next higher level if he is ready than be told "You can't play, you're too good". If he was throwing wild every other pitch, then yeah, I could see it as a safety issue. But, he's accurate. Hell, even Randy Johnson has plunked a few in his day, and he can top out at ~100MPH.

    Fuck this PC bullshit. If your kid can't hit this kid's pitches, your kid needs to spend a bit more time in batting practice. Not complain and whine to you (the parent) and get this kid taken off the team because pwecious can't hit. Your kid (OMG!) isn't the best at something. DEAL WITH IT.

    That's so ridiculous. The kid is 9 years old. He's good at what he's doing. So now the league wants to screw him over for being good at throwing? If your team is better, you'll win. If you aren't, then deal with it. Losing is part of life.

      If that's true, then the league should facilitate him moving up to the next level. Instead, they're causing problems. Unless it really a serious safety issue, they should never have stopped him mid-season. What sort of message does that send to him? Their confrontational attitudes when working with a nine-year-old child tell me that they're not interested in working this situation out for everyone's enjoyment.

        I would tend to agree everyone here, although it's hard for me to muster much sympathy for a kid who can throw a 40mph fastball at the age of 9. Something tells me the kid's gonna make out all right.
