I think I'm going to either unfriend some of these people or block their status updates.
Another thing that's annoying is when people repost the same things over and over and over again. For instance, a while ago Pepsi apparently issued a can that had the Pledge of Allegiance on it minus the "Under God" part. A couple of my former high school classmates took serious issue with that and posted this message at least five or six times.
"Pepsi has issued a can with the Pledge on it, but they left out the "Under God" part. They said they didn't want to offend anyone. Well, I hope they won't be offended when we don't give them our money for their product. After all, our money has God on it, too! Let's send Pepsi a message by not buying their product. Repost if you agree!"
At first, I wanted to comment "So, they're printing the Pledge as it was originally written? That's interesting." But . . . I don't like to stir the pot, so I just ignored it. About the fifth or sixth time they posted this, I wanted to comment "You've posted this several times. I'm sure everyone understands your views on this by now." But once again, that would have stirred the pot. Plus, my parents are on Facebook, and they're friends with some of these people, too, and they would have gotten upset over it.
