Eh, i'm for sharing knowledge, I find it funny myth busters used to give exact recipes for some of the explosives segments now they get bleeped out. I learned plenty about reactions in chemistry class but people get all pissed off when you also mention that combining chemistry with physics is how most explosives work.
There is nothing wrong with knowledge but how you use it that matters.

I remember back in the 80's when crack cocaine was becoming really popular, NBC did an entire segment on it, including how to make it. They printed the "recipe" on the screen and showed someone making it like it was a cooking show.
You're right though. There's nothing wrong with sharing the knowledge. What we need to be more concerned with is the person that uses that knowledge and how they're raised.
I've trained martial arts since I was 6 and had the "benefit" of having a Marine Corps Drill Instructor for a dad. If my parents didn't raise me right, or if I was some sociopath, I could potentially do a lot of damage out there. Some People Are Alive Only Because It's Illegal To Kill Them.

Well, the thing about crack is that the core ingredient itself is illegal. The recipe wouldn't tell you how to make cocaine from other materials, but only how to turn one form of it into another, and the people who would use that information, if they didn't have it already, would have other ready sources for it than NBC."My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."
