I disagree with jail time. We need to use jail only to lock up violent offenders. Non-violent offenses; we need different solutions.

I'm sorry, but in my eyes this qualifies as a violent offense. Oh sure she didn't intend to hurt anyone but she's still operating a minimum one ton object which is potentially lethal even at low speeds where children are almost certain to be.

She's not a psychopath, but there is definitely considerable evidence of her being a sociopath.

I agree with bara. This woman showed she has no regard for others and therefore exchanged her right to drive in return to be afoot. I mean really driving down the sidewalk, did she not think someone might be "walking" on the sidewalk. Heck usually that's the first place kids getting off buses go.
It too bad she couldn't be sentenced to a daily dose of hickory tea.

For better or for worse, the only way to find out for sure if she will take this seriously is to wait and see what she does...

Sadly, yes. For many people, public humiliation is all it takes to turn them right. For others, it means nothing (for some people, even jail time doesn't get through to them). We can't be 100% sure which category this idiot is in.

If she pulls this stunt again, throw the book whole damned library at her.
