First the Repubs mouth off on "legitmate rape", NOW a sitting judge opens his ignorant mouth.

So according to Judge Johnson, it's not a rape unless it's violent and causes bodily harm. Just because a woman's vagina isn't "shredded" doesn't mean that the sex was consensual.

I..okay, wait, I'm way more interested in the little blurbs at the end of the article, the ones entitled "Lies GOP Tells About Women's Bodies." Here's an excerpt from a bill someone proposed as described in the second blurb:

Materials that inform the pregnant woman that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer. It is scientifically undisputed that full-term pregnancy reduces a woman's lifetime risk of breast cancer. It is also undisputed that the earlier a woman has a first full-term pregnancy, the lower her risk of breast cancer becomes, because following a full-term pregnancy the breast tissue exposed to estrogen through the menstrual cycle is more mature and cancer resistant. In fact, for each year that a woman's first full-term pregnancy is delayed, her risk of breast cancer rises 3.5 percent. The theory that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer builds upon this undisputed foundation. During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy the breasts develop merely by duplicating immature tissues. Once a woman passes the thirty-second week of pregnancy (third trimester), the immature cells develop into mature cancer resistant cells. When an abortion ends a normal pregnancy, the woman is left with more immature breast tissue than she had before she was pregnant.

I'm absolutely floored that someone would sink so low as to scare women into not getting an abortion by lying about cancer. ABORTIONS DON'T CAUSE BREAST CANCER. These people are insane.

So if I hold a gun to her head but do no actual damage it isn't rape?

Does this mean drugging someone isn't rape? I mean, if you drug them and they are unconscious, they can't fight back and if they don't fight back, it's not rape?

These judges, when they open their mouths and speak such ignorant comments, need to be banned from ruling over another case for their life.

The logical fallacies in the abortion causes breast cancer argument are mind numbing.

It's absolutely true that women who breast feed have a lower breast cancer risk (bottle feeding moms don't get that benefit). And it's true that the breasts do not fully mature until a woman has had a baby, which is partly why the breast cancer risk decreases.

But if a woman breast feeds, then has an abortion later, she does not magically have an increased risk for breast cancer. Far from it.

The depths of untruth these people will sink to is unreal.
Good news! Your insurance company says they'll cover you. Unfortunately, they also say it will be with dirt.

The judge is claiming he made the remarks out of fustration because he was arguing with the prosecutor over the sentence. ( prosecutor wanted 16 years, Judge insisted upon 6) the prosecutor was probably out of line in that case, (prosecution should not be able to insist on a sentence) but the comments aren't excused by it.

Personally, i think the judge should be barred from ruling on rape cases, possibly on any case involving women. ( we don't know if he is a good judge in general, so I am reluctant to call for his dismissal.)

Honestly I'm more disturbed that threatening to mutilate someone's face and genitals with a hot screwdriver, beating them with a metal rod, raping them, forcing oral sex on them and god knows what else is only "worth" 6 years to this asshole. To quote him exactly.

That, frankly, horrifies me. What the hell does he mean by that shit? Whats an armed robbery "worth" to him? How about a rape to his definition--"Shredding" and all. Whats that "worth"? Murder? Arson?
