That doesn't even get into the cosmetic definitions set forth in the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994

All variations of the M16 meet these functional definitions and are classified by the U.S. Army as an Assault Weapon. All it takes to make an AR-15, or any of its other civilian clones, meet these definitions is a selector switch for burst or fully automatic fire.
I'm more than familiar with the Army's definition as I accept that as the true definition and not what the politicians and media has defined as assault weapons.
I'm also more than familiar with the AR-15/M16 than most as I've actually built them. As I type I have several receivers, one lower parts kit and a flat-top rifle upper half.
The boy in CT did not use an M-16/M4 he used a standard Bushmaster AR-15 rifle with most likely 30 round mags. I think I remember reading all victims were shot more than once with some being shot 11 times. The rifle doesn't have to be full-auto to accomplish that. From what I've read only two adults even tried to engage him. The vast majority of his victims were executed by that piece of shit, the poor children did what comes natural and tried to make themselves small and avoid being seen. Some of the adults tried using their bodies as shields to protect the children and I commend them for that bravery. When you have no means of resisting it's hard to do much but I thank the Good Lord or what they tried to do.
Cry Havoc and let slip the marsupials of war!!!
