      Wow. PR suicide, indeed.

Something tells me that the waitress won't be the last person to lose their job over this incident.

take this article as it appears courtsey of Retail Hell Underground with a grain of salt.

        http://www.retailhellunderground.com...-go-viral.html

IF what the article writer says is true, this so-called "pastor" set herself up to be shot not only in the foot, but the hand, the head, the ass and the heart by the internet.

It also leads to another aritcle on a Christian site detailing what this so-called "pastor" is doing wrong.

A bit more reading reveals that the waitress who served the pastor did not get fired. She showed the receipt to another waitress, and *that* waitress photographed it and then shared it. The sharer was the one who got fired.

All right... okay, that's just stupid. Do they not employ any kind of PR-guys at Appleby's?

Also, I feel the need to retract my previous statement. If the company itself posted a note with a customer's full signature a month before this incident, then firing the waitress for doing the same is just hypocrisy.

Wow. This is essentially watching a bonfire and Applebee's is throwing bucket after bucket of gasoline on it trying to put it out then cries out "hook up the fire hose to the gas tank! That should put it out!"

I was on-board with Applebee's decision until I read that they had done the exact same thing a month prior. Why is it okay to break privacy policies with a good note, but not a bad one? Policy is policy, Applebee's. Either stick with it or drop it.

                    I love that analogy.
