Basically, because the quote was not closed properly, its formatting is a little messed up and whatever programming you're using to look at it is futzing it up.

Here's what it would look like if the quote was closed properly:

Then I apologize to Bara but I can only go on what I see and I didn't see anything else.

Are you using a different program than the standard? Are you logging in with an external app? That would explain why you're seeing weird formatting.

Well based on that article, it just sees like the politicians like to do everything in their power to hamstring the Post Office and then complain loudly about how it doesn't make money and is yet another example of how the Government fails us. Never mind that the Post Office has to deliver anywhere and has to maintain a much longer window for retirement than any other entity. But I forgot, facts don't enter into the equation when opinions are on the line.

A lot of politicians that usually say something that would usually call for their head suddenly jumps on the USPS, at least that's what I've noticed. Of course our own Postmaster General is treating is just as bad. As far as I know he's never been a minion in the organization and yet declares he knows how it should go,

Kinda like when they were redoing our routes. The way one of my routes was set up made it a smooth line of travel with the walking. The way they had set it up I would start in one spot, go down just one street. Jump over to another, come back to the first, go to a completely different spot, and oh btw you have to drive up a one way street backwards. Adding over a mile in walking and over a hour total in walking/driving.

Another route had the computer telling them all the boxes were on one side of the street instead of both. So the carrier was supposed to deliver a box, do a uturn, deliver a box, u-turn, deliver, ect... When it was pointed out that the setup was wrong we were told to do the deliveries as the computer had them and they would look at the routes again in about a month. A complete waste of time and money but yet these route restructurings were called for by congressmen who already think we do nothing and that were overpaid.

What's funny is if they would give us back the money that Bush Sr took plus ended that stupid prefunding...we would be profitable. The year a huge chunk of our money was taken the USPS was getting into the Internet and offering out services for email for businesses to have personal mail tracking. Machines that were horribly out of date were to be replaced and ten+ year old vehicles were going to start getting rotated out a few in each state at a time. The newest truck I drive now over all five routes...14 years old.

Honestly, after seeing your screenshot for what you saw, I'd be throwing that app in the garbage. It's only vaguely related to what was actually posted. O.o

Which is where I made a mistake in getting upset. I didn't have all the information I should have had but at the same time didn't know I was missing info till STD was able to show me what I was missing.

The problem is with a....sight/brain/medical issue I have right now I can't read the forums through safari on my phone and I like looking over the forum when I'm on break, lunch, or waiting somewhere.

Bah, even if it was a factual quote, I'd tip a postal worker $100 if they'd throw away junk mail and political propaganda for me.

Ah shit I'll be getting that in a few months (we have a federal election come September). I know people have often tipped their posties or given then food whenever they've come around. My postie is awesome (usually)

Sadly, you might have to pay their legal fees as well as that is very illegal....Sorry...

Why do incumbent politicians get discounts on *campaign* material? Why is that not restricted to... oh, of course, because they're the ones who make the law.

I'm particularly aggravated at Paul Broun. In general anyway, but more particularly about the mail. I am in no way inclined to send him money and am no longer in his district, but I'm apparently still on the mailing list. If he had to pay to send me junk mail, that would be OK, but seeing his signature in the corner substituting for paying the post office like everyone else has to is galling.

My congress critters don't abuse the mail as some other do. My US rep sends out a what's going on mailer twice a year and what his thoughts regarding those goings on. As far as I can remember he's never asked for any money for himself or anyone else, nor as he asked for a vote. He did announce that his son was running for a local office but in a proud Daddy kinda way.
Unless I'm mistaken I don't think they're allowed to use "incumbent" mailings to solicit money or votes. All such solicitations I've received has been paid for by the candidate's campaign fund.

That being said I don't think there's any laws regarding using the mailing list for both purposes, just the printing and mailing costs.

Back to the OT, I like my letter carriers they're good folks. My only complaint is they get mud on my driveway and no matter how much concrete I put down they seem to keep creating another mud hole. Yeah it's not much of a complaint and if it really bothered me I'd say something to them.
One of my great uncles was a letter carrier but back then they were mail-men. When I was a kid for one week I followed him on his route just to see what he did. Other than the Army I've walked so much and climbed so many steps in my life. One one liked to hunt with him because he walked so fast and after that week I knew why. To him he wasn't walking fast just getting down the road at his normal pace. He'd wear the dogs out he walked so fast and that's hard to do.
