I think she should have followed up, but they should have just re cited her. Jesus. Then if she didn't pay, throw the book at her.

Seriously, wasting resources by arresting her just smacks of Barney Fife-ism.

Exactly the point I'm making. If people would stop finding faults in the people who are arrested, they'd realize how out of proportion the arrest is in the first place.

I'd say it was more like Rosco Coltraine-ism. After all, Barney may have been stupid, but he wasn't malicious.

Lol. You forgot the P. but yeah. Barney was just over zealous, Roscoe was an asshole.

I've had bench warrants issued on my flaky ass twice, now.

And if I'd been arrested for it, I would only have blamed myself because I knew about the tickets and just failed to deal with them.

Although, I learned recently that in one similar situation recently that I was involved in, they would have had to notify me via registered mail before taking action, and that had definitely not happened. Thankfully it's no longer an issue, as that was dealt with before it got that far.

But, again, it would have been my own damn fault.

And, yes, it was my responsibility to get the information regarding how much I owed and where it had to be paid. Which is what I did. Sure, it wasted a day, but if I'd dealt with it when I should have, it wouldn't have been such a chore.

Seriously, people expect a bureaucracy with thousands of tickets going through their system to be responsible for ensuring that every piece of mail gets to it's destination (talk about a waste of resources) as opposed to those few individuals who don't actually receive them taking responsibility for whatever they screwed up to get a fine in the first place? Talk about speshul snowflakes.
