I make it a point to avoid like the plague anything that Amiel writes. She is so far out in the ozone layer that she's not even inhaling oxygen anymore. She's never had a rough time in her life (or at least none that money couldn't smooth over) and has zero empathy for anybody who's not at her economic level (translation: 99.99% of humanity). She's basically irrelevant to life as we know it and the only reason I can think of that any publication pays for her stuff is Hubby's money.

She was then immediately rehired by Macleans in 2005 when it was taken over by the former editor in chief of the National Post ( Owned by her husband ). So the moment one of Conrad's ol' buddies took over Macleans she got her old job back.

I eventually made a point of ignoring just about anything related to Conrad Black, because I got sick of hearing and reading about it.
That's why I never really paid attention to the "coincidence" of her return to McLean's magazine coinciding with Conrad's buddy taking over.Point to Ponder:
Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?
