I know this is rather minor, but my jaw just dropped reading it.

Was it short sighted and self absorbed? Sure.

What do you expect from a kid his age? The wisdom of Solomon?

Just a little forethought? He's 19. He had enough forethought to know what was appropriate to write, so why'd he add on something inappropriate?

Yeah, age has nothing to do with it. It takes a special kind of self absorbed douchebaggedness to walk into the Anne Frank House and think "How can I make this about me?"

He has a reputation for being an ass so this doesn't surprise me too much. It really wasn't that bad but was kind of out of place.

I'm not going to hate on the kid. Surely it was an ill-considered joke- and we've all made a couple of those at one time or another.

You don't joke at the Anne Frank house. Especially in their guest book. Besides this wasn't a joke, he was completely serious. He really is that self absorbed. I mean for god sakes.

I agree the guy's a jerk. I just don't think he's significant enough to get upset about it.

Celebrities, especially currently big ones like Bieber, don't seem to get that a whole lot. And this is just the latest in a trend for him.

Of course I have. But not in the guest book at the Anne Frank House. Its one thing to say something dumb or insensitive to someone when you're young and emotional. Its another to flagrantly and publicly do so on what is essentially a sort of cultural hallowed ground when you are old enough to know better. I knew better than that was I was 12.

I mean her diary is required reading in school. Especially up here in Canuckistan. It was a huge deal in our curriculum as was the tyranny of Nazi Germany.
