As for "only one", Panacea is near straw manning 1/3rd of the argument while ignoring the rest. That doesn't lend much credence.

In other more relevant news, they have caught one suspect and are chasing the other. Looks like Reddit identified suspect #2 before the cops did.

#2 is in custody, #1 is on the run and they're trying to coral him in Watertown. Apparently they robbed a 7/11 for some reason leading to this. Sounds they had a serious scary firefight with the cops using explosives too. Knocking off a 7/11 isn't what you would call criminal mastermind level though. What the hell is the motive?

I was referring to GK's post that stated one suspect was in custody and one fleeing. Hence my comment that the suspect not fleeing anymore was dead and not in custody.

So, to sum up my understanding:

he was taken into custody and then later died of his wounds. so the information GK had at the time he posted was probably correct if he hadn't been reported as dead yet.

Yeah, I was going by info coming over the Boston PD's police scanner last night. They hadn't mentioned that he was dead yet. Looks like the other guy is still on the loose. Also, I see they have different suspect names than what the news had last night?

The only thing I know so far is that they are Chechen. So I've heard people claim it has to do with the rebels but who knows.

They are, historically from Chechnya, but didn't live there. They had lived for a time in Kyrgyzstan, then moved to Dagestan about a dozen years ago, which is in the same region as Chechnya.

Needless to say, the a spokesman for the Chechan president was quick to distance the area from the pair, as has Dagestan.
