I thought I would never see a reaction to a crime that disgusted me more than the reaction people had to the Steubenville rape case... or at least that it would take longer than this, but here we are.
I don't have links to it available, I'm posting at work, when I get home I'll get more details, but about a week ago at a soccer game in Taylorsville Utah a goalie got upset over a ref's call and attacked him. 5 hours ago the ref died. People on facebook are already defending the kid and how he shouldn't be punished because he never intended to hurt the man.
Excuse me? Um, actually excuse me, but that phrasing wasn't strong enough. Excuse fucking me, what the fuck are you fuckers smoking?
A man is dead because of this 17 year old's actions, he has had violent episodes before, he knew damned well what he was doing. Did he intend for his victim to die? I actually do doubt that, but he definitely intended to harm him, and guess what, the risk you take when you aim to injure someone is that you will kill them, and you need to be prepared to accept responsibility for your actions if they lead to death. Oh, but he had his whole life ahead of him... so, your fucking point, the ref had his whole life ahead of him too. But think about the kid's (he's fucking 17, he's not a kid) family? I am, I'm thinking if his parents had raised him better they wouldn't be in this situation. Yeah, just pisses me off when people want to remove responsibility
