I had an English prof who told us a story of a student who creeped her out. Her assignment, a modern take on classic fairy tales. His essay, sadomasochistic smut (she didn't go into detail). She was so creeped out that she kept her distance from him and was afraid to be caught anywhere alone.

I can't imagine how creeped out this professor was by one that was directed at her.

We don't slow down for them, we don't mark them out separately; one would have to assume from the reading of that bill that we're talking schools where children are...which does not cover colleges and universities.

And if it does, that means that the government then violated 2nd Amendment rights as they stand now by preventing adults who live near, around, or on said campuses from having firearms.

A private residence within 1000 yards and not a part of the school grounds is one of the exceptions.

Colleges and universities are NOT part of the public school system. That law ONLY applies to public schools, K-12. The law you refer to uses the definition of a school in USC 18 921 26, "(26) The term “school” means a school which provides elementary or secondary education, as determined under State law."

Secondary education means middle and high schools. Colleges and universities are higher education.

You know, as a writer (and a gutter-mind), I've written some seriously *cough* adult-rated stories.

However, those only go to people who have told me that they 100% are okay with reading them and get a kick out of "porn with plot!"

I would never give any of those to what is, basically, a captive audience. Especially when the character involved in all the dirty stuff is blatantly the person to whom I'm giving the story. I do consider this sexual harassment. It's no different than walking up to her and saying "I want to bend you over your desk....etc."

THIS. I write dirty stories as well but I ALWAYS ask the person "are you really sure you want to read this?" Before I hand it over, and if they seem the slightest bit uncomfortable I won't show them. To just shove it at them is wrong and sexual harassment.
"I like him aunt Sarah, he's got a pretty shield. It's got a star on it!"

This teacher didn't have a problem with sexually explicit material.

She had a problem with sexually explicit material about her.

Can't say as I blame her.

Except that the "gun thing" came up before she complained and is the reason she complained.

If there had been no "gun thing" she would have just been creeped out in silence.

Well outside of any of my feelings about being able to carry a gun, I would feel slightly different about that creepy guy vs that creepy guy with a gun so that I can understand. I'd be more inclined to say she should have reported it even if he didn't have a gun.
