Woman has son arrested for taking her pop-tarts

I'm not making this up. Where I'm from they would have arrested her for calling the police over pop-tarts, or told the women to jump in a lake. They would not have arrested the boy and put him in juvenile detention.

On a more serious note, what the hell was she thinking? Did she stop and think "a one dollar poptart is totally worth the hundreds of dollars needed to bail my son out of jail". Looks like the cops took the same stupid pills mommy dearest took.

Heck, even grounding might have been too much. As one of his neighbors noted, food in most people's houses are for everyone to eat. Why would she even care in the first place, let alone enough to call the cops.
