As somebody who had his life turned upside down because of a false accusation..I can say that even when it is proven beyond a doubt that you didn't do anything it is like throwing a spoonful of water on a forest fire..does nothing. Even people I had known, and at the time trusted, would not believe I was innocent..despite the fact that the same person had accused half of the city. All I can say is thank goodness the one person who ended up being my alibi stood beside me. (A female cousin, I had completely forgotten we had went to the movies together at the time the incident was supposed to be happening. Thankfully she even had some pictures we had taken at the movies..what can I say my mind went into gridlock when accused).

Now, the things I would be ok happening to rapist would get me banned from even fratching, and have a lot of people looking at me very differently.

TL;DR False accusations of rape is NOT something to take lightly. I think she got off way too easy.
