    Then how come that line appears on every paycheck I receive? yes it is not an amount of money they receive but a tax credit they receive for paying below minimum wage.

      it's NOT a tax credit. Basically, in order to pay you less than the Federal Minimum Wage, they have to tell you how much less they are paying you. The Tip Credit line is on the paycheck so you cannot claim you were ignorant of how much lower your pay is than the Federal Minimum Wage. Basically, it is a credit against the FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE.
