    No he didn't.

As an athiest, Noah's story is one of my favourite to tease people with about their ignorance of the bible.

There is so much out there in songs, movies and so forth that perpetuate the myth that Noah was commanded to bring two of each animal onto his ark. But the only source of the story is the book of Genesis. (Genesis 7:2-3)

He was commanded to bring 2 of every 'unclean' animal, but *14* of each 'clean' animal and bird.

Lots of fun to be had arguing with people that Noah didn't bring two sheep/lions/doves on his ark, only for them to grab their bible to show you. I even had a theology student check that it was his bible and not a fake when he read "seven pairs". He'd never seen it in the story before.

Something I hadn't quite thought of until now: how would Noah know which were unclean, since those rules, if I remember correctly (which I admit is pretty iffy) didn't come along until Moses?

Well since you are all in on NOT punishing the INNOCENT, what is your take on every NCAA record by Penn State students erased due to their assistant coach molesting young boys while the players were not at the school? And how the NCAA has lifted some of those and got called out by a Congressman for daring to lift the things they put on the players?
I was unaware of that. If that's true, I would find that ridiculously bullshit.

Not heard of this or it's old and I've forgotten about it, do you mean players unaware of the assistant coaches behaviour were penalised for his actions?

          OT
Regarding my understanding of the bible, I wasn't raised religious and the closest I got to the book was the Charlton Heston movie and I might have said it before here I am not sure (it ended up on a Christmas CD after I recorded the anecdote for a friend), being white I was assumed to be Christian or some flavour and schools were more keen on explaining either dead religions with numerous gods or the still active multiple deities of Hinduism that at one point I knew more about gods no one worships anymore than I did Christianity and that really encapsulated the nativity play.

So I was in my 20's when I realised that Jesus although born on Christmas day and crucified at Easter actually had 30 years between those two holidays.
In my mind it was like the intro to Starman.

Now my recollection of names and pantheons are all but gone and the bible is just a book I will never get round to reading (or watching again).

I went from page one to this page skipping the middle just now so I really have no idea.

The NCAA negated every game that was played while the assistant coach was coaching, meaning that the games come off as NOT played. If the game is considered not played then every single achievement is null and void. I wish I could find this online. This player won the Heisman Award (as a Penn State fan I cheered, we hadn't had one in a long time.) and his interview when he got the phone call telling him that now he didn't. He was crying and saying what did I have to do with this? Why I am being punished? If you look on the list of Heisman Award he is NOT on it. Why not? They also took away scholarships and any chance of a post season. The university of Miami was given a less sentence and their players and coaches and recruits were actively involved.

In that case, yes, it's ridiculously bullshit. What's the relevance?

Nevermind, let's just make the Entitlement Whores (many of the football players) , and not stop it before it gets worse.
Aaron Hernadez floated through many charges before this murder charge (in high school and college and the NFL ) and believes that because he didn't pull the trigger on the gun that he is getting off scot free.

Yep, that is MUCH BETTER! I have respect for the guys who stayed through the crisis at Penn State and some played without scholarships.

Okay, Titi, I am really not following you. I don't see what any of this has anything to do with anything here.

Yes. But he should be punished because HE DID SOMETHING. Whereas Mike Pouncey, Percy Harvin, and Tim Tebow (his Florida teammates) and Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Danny Woodhead (his Patriots teammates) have not been arrested because, unlike him, they had nothing to do with it. There's a big difference between "I ordered it done, it's done" and "I knew the guy who did it, but I didn't know it was happening."

Edit: As best as I can tell, you're creating an all-or-nothing situation. It's notable that when you bring up Hernandez and someone else brings up Steubenville, you're both bringing up people who could have gotten away with DOING SOMETHING on account of their being football players.

If the entire Patriots roster was punished for Hernandez's behavior, or if the the entire 2007-2009 Gators roster was punished for that, I would ALSO think it's stupid.

Looks like the lesson was not learned.

Looks like there's not going to be much of a football season for that school.
