Actually, the proof of service is likely to be in the file of documents along with the rest of the information regarding his case. Whether it's properly stored or indexed, however, is another matter entirely.

One site I found (for another state, mind) listed that in 2006, they had criminal records added to an electronic search system dating back over 15 years. I would expect that they have older records on hand, but didn't add them to the database due to diminishing returns.

Well this one had some good news (depending on how you look at it). A judge decided he served his time. Seems like a sensible ruling. For those who think he should have been punished, he DID serve nearly a year in prison between the time the mistake was realized and this recent ruling.

We're just lucky he realized his mistake and made something out of himself. If only more people in his position were like that.

Here is a better article on his release. It mentions that a court clerk never told the Missouri Supreme Court that he was out on bail after his FIRST conviction. How they didn't realize it during the appeals I don't know.

The state also got money for him being in prison, when he wasn't. How did this go unnoticed until the day he was supposed to be released???? Did they not notice that they weren't transporting him to his court dates yet he showed up?
