  • Stupid Parents #2

(#2 because there's already a stupid parents thread that I started)

It doesn't get much stupid than dangling your 2 year old son over a cheetah pit. He fell 12 feet and broke his leg, but did not become cheetah food (dad jumped in after him and another zoo patron pulled him and the kid out).

    What were they thinking?!

They weren't. Not a single thought went through their empty heads.

Either that, or it involved beer and the phrase, "Hey, honey, watch this!" >_>

Now, I DO partially blame the zoo for this. Parents shouldn't be ABLE to do that. But who does that anyway?!?

As one person said a while back after a similar incident: Perhaps the zoo should have put a deterrent in the exhibit. You know, like putting some sort of fierce animal in the cage, which would attack anybody who climbed in.

I don't blame the zoo at all. There are likely already signs that tell people the blatantly obvious disclaimer. What's next? Should they cover the rocks in soft foam in case parents let their kids climb on them and hit their heads?

I am reminded of a somewhat popular phrase a while back...

"I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people. I'm saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem take care of itself..."
