  • Anti-vaccination mum's seven children catch whooping cough

    https://au.news.yahoo.com/a/27151736...hooping-cough/

    Title really says it all.

I don't feel sorry for the mum at all, but I feel really sorry for the kids.

Wouldn't be too surprised if this happens more frequently over the next few years with some of the other illnesses that have mostly been wiped out.

    Measles has come back.

    Whooping Cough has come back.

All because people refused to vaccinate their kids and got a bunch of other people sick as a result. Not vaccinating your kids (not counting allergies) should be criminal.

I do give the mom points for wanting to catch her kids up on their vaccines before they even got sick, but really, with seven unvaccinated or partially vaccinated kids, you should expect something bad to happen.

I never realized how important vaccines were until all this started happening. The parents are relying on faulty science.

The impression that I got from the article was more that she believed it was a "mild illness" and that "her kids would shake it off". Apparently not....(this made the rounds over here because of the hubbub around the anti-vaxxers losing childcare benefits)

Please don't call it faulty science. That implies there's something wrong with science and anti-vaxxers don't use any science to prove their views.

Weeeell... It's masquerading as science, and they can't tell between non-science, bad science and actual science. So calling it faulty science goes farther than saying that it isn't science...

No, the parents are refusing to believe the actual science that's been around for 100+ years on vaccines.

                The correct term is pseudoscience.
Good news! Your insurance company says they'll cover you. Unfortunately, they also say it will be with dirt.
