Yes this is Kansas.
TL;DR woman with Crohns finds that pot helps her condition to the point that she can actually hold a job and do activities with her 11 YO son. At school the Son speaks out for medical pot. Police and CPS get involved and Son is taken away and Mom gets charged with possession WITH INTENT to distribute (which seems to be a trumped up charge).
OK I get this as pot is not legal in Kanas and the US Federal laws.

This so-called Dr. is making statements based upon what???? HE fully admits he does NOT know the specifics of the situation AND then goes on to "claim" that post causes domestic violence.
AND YES I know this is Kansas

Hold on, says Eric Voth, a Topeka physician and longtime marijuana opponent.
"Until all the reports are in, I would urge people to take pause," Voth said. "I can't presume to know what happened in this case. I know a lot of people are trying to voice compassion, but when police and child agencies take a kid out of a home, they do so with serious consideration."
Voth says marijuana has serious toxic and long-term effects, and causes domestic and spousal violence.
