Did you even read the link you posted. In it, the principal first states that he believes the kid did it for attention. THEN he says he got what he asked for: attention.

That's not defending, that's clarifying a statement which makes it seem he was saying something he clearly wasn't.

Did you even read the link I posted? Because the principal isn't even in it. Its the police union president speaking. Also, what precisely did it seem like? The context of the statement doesn't lessen the assholishness of it. In fact its even worse in context.

Accusing the kid of wanting attention is absurd given that it was the principal and cops that decided to turn this into a three ring circus. Not the kid. The principal did not think it was a bomb. The cops did not think it was a bomb. Yet the principal still called the cops and the cops still sent 6 officers over to arrest 14 year old kid.

Especially now that the school is starting to slander him and its coming out that he's brought all sorts of weird shit inventions to school before without a problem. Plus there's a history of the kid being bullied and discriminated against by the district.

I can't envision a 14 year old Muslim immigrant in *Texas* wanting to draw the attention of authorities for lawlz.

Them trying to bleed the town dry of cash doesn't help their case. Lends credibility to those who have been arguing this whole time that this was done on purpose for attention.

There's his interview he gave. In it he states that he didn't want to make it look suspicious. If he didn't want to make it suspicious, why the hell did he put it in a briefcase look-a-like case? That suspicious as hell. And furthermore, if he was just trying to build a clock, why was he so concerned about it looking suspicious in the first place? If he was so concerned about it being mistaken for a bomb, why did he make it look like a suitcase bomb (albeit an amateur one at that)?

His dad has been trying to exploit this since the beginning for his political gain and he's gained plenty.

That sure is a lot of coincidences.
