Okay, I know I'm gonna get heat for this one, but here goes.
I'm sick of Fox taking good british shows and outright ruining them! Take for example Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares.
Now in Britan, The restaurant owner invites Ramsey in to help fix things. Ramsey's is definitely there to help, and the owner is willing to work with him. Often times it is about showing how to run their business at less cost with better food (going local, often organic). I can't recall an episode where the owner flat out refused to accept the help. On more than a few episodes Ramsey being polite, friendly, and downright humorous is common.
Now we come to The US version. I swear more than a few owners intentionally ruined their outlet just to set up a shouting match with Ramsey. Others seem like the producer went to the owner and told him to start being an ass just to get a rise out of Ramsey. The show is shouting, shouting, more shouting, even more shouting, and if there's time, a few seconds of showing how to make good food and how to run a business right.
Sadly, it seems like Fox's approach to shows is to get a host not for any good points they may have, but simply for the rare moments when they're total dicks and produce that situation all the time. I can't even watch the US version of Kitchen Nightmares anymore because episode after episode of Ramsey being pissed off from start to end gets boring after a while.
