OK, this story is quite painful... it seriously breaks my heart, I'm going to struggle not to cry while writing it.
I recently started talking with a guy online. He seems like a nice guy. At first I thought he was a bit slutty since his main focus seemed to be, "hey, I'm willing to do anything you want to try, let me come over tonight and you can have your way with me". Of course every time he did that I politely responded that it wasn't really my scene to do random hook ups... I'd like to be a friend... maybe someday more... but I wasn't going to do a random hook up.
Finally one day I asked him why he was so interested... and he admitted it... he is homeless. When he came out of the closet his parents kicked him out and told him never to show his face at their house again. So far he hasn't been able to find a job. He every day went to the library to use the internet to look for job postings and to get social support from friends online. Now he's to the point where he is so desperate that he's whoring himself out, just to have somewhere warm to sleep and maybe get a meal out of it.
The reason why his parents kicked him out... well... you see... the prophet says homosexuality is wrong and sinful, we can't have a sinner living in our home. God damnit, how can those parents look at themselves in the mirror... they abandoned their son for no other reason than who he is. Actually the part that both terrifies me and breaks my heart to no end is that they probably look themselves in the mirror with a sense of pride that they cast out the evil from their house. Yet another life ruined by the bigotry so common in the LDS church. What a fucking waste.
And now I am crying.
