at MMO's. I just started playing one with a friend, and he's been playing these way longer than me so he knows how its done. But we'll be playing, and I'll notice he's nowhere nearby, so I'll message him. Nothing. I'll go looking for him, can't find him. I'll usually wind up calling him, saying "dude wtf are we still playing?" and I find out that he just plain wasn't paying attention and forgot to follow me on a quest or something.

I don't recall if there's a thread about this or not, but certainly there should be one on MMO players who know everything there is about the game, but who dish out crap on newbies... Hello??? Didn't we all start that way?

And more importantly - don't we play for fun - not to deride other people who want to have fun.

Now - if you're a gold spammer, or beggar - yeah, sure you deserve to cop flack!!! (I had one guildy ask me for gold... I asked him what professions he took - mining and skinning!!! HA! M 10th level alt had more gold than my 40th level main cos of that!)

But the people who don't even know how to use computers bug me the most, here's a real example.

Me: "go ahead and mine the copper now"

Him/Her: "How O.o"

Me: "Just use it"

Him/Her: "uh.... how?"

Me: "Click on it!"

Pause

Him/Her: RIGHT click?

Weeellll.... Hellsing... I'm really hoping that person was really new to computers, and trying to 'get it' sort of thing. (I was one of those - almost word for word how you explained it )

TBH, I prefer 'noobs', to the arrogant rude ppl who throw crap at ppl just because they've been playing for ages and know it all.

Btw - I've just started LOTRO, and I'm not sure what it is (perhaps just area), but the scene seems quite cool. A couple of minstrels have been putting their musical talents to work and producing some nice tunes (I heard Star Wars the other night!)
