I hate when people leave stinky things like socks and styrofoam boxes (I don't know if that's the exact material...it's used for fishing and outdoorsy stuff) and other random stinky shit OUTSIDE of their apartment and refuse to do anything with it for several days. Yes, socks too. Yes, neighbor, I am talking about you. That shit has been outside since Sunday, and it fucking stinks. Get rid of it.

I hate when someone adds you on Facebook.....you don't really know them but figure "Oh maybe I work with this person" or "Maybe I went to school with them" (cuz I did graduate with a class of 300 kids and only went to that school for 2 years, there's lots I don't know of) so you add them, and they instantly flood your Wall or PM inbox with tons of messages and stupid shit.....and when you don't respond, they just keep adding more shit. Instant delete/block. Creeps.

Because then you might stop getting bitched at. Post-padding is against the rules, and respect for your fellow members is the paramount rule. You break both of those every time you post twice in a row. Tell you what. From now on, I'll approve the first post, delete the following ones. That way, you get to keep doing what you're doing, and I get to keep the board nice and tidy.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

Yet I think doing what you suggest, inherently messy.
I don't want others to have to quote then erase a whole load just to comment about one tiny section.

Could you start doing that tomorrow, as I just posted a whole boat load a moment ago?

Did we turn on the post counter here? Huh, I never noticed.

I have no hates today, I got a free manicure and pedicure, (goddamn do I love those chairs with the foot bath things), a lesson on the most incredible 3 year old colt on the planet, then a fun ride on a pair of fun 4 year olds with the best sister on the planet and my bestest roomie, then a nice dinner of pita and hummus and chocolate hazelnut gelato.

Really, the only thing missing was a margarita. Ah well, I'll rectify that tomorrow.

So instead you stretch threads, chop up your thoughts, and generally increase the difficulty in following the conversation. Trust me, no one cares at having to delete a couple of extra lines in a quote. Except maybe you.

I hate that some people don't realize how easy quoting and multi quoting is.

I do now, but I still find it messy and irritating.

I understand why someone may not like multi-quoting. It is irritating to do it when you're quoting over three posts or so. It takes a lot of editing and organizing.

However, I've found that most people prefer to read a thread when each poster gathers all their thoughts and arguments into as few posts as possible. Especially on a debate forum when one is often scrolling through a thread to find all the arguments someone has made on a subject. So it's something we do as a courtesy to others.

Plus, there's that post padding issue. Flyndaran isn't a post padder (since all of his posts contain content), but it's enough of a concern that we have a policy of merging all consecutive posts made by the same member. And those rules have to apply to everyone, because that's how rules work. So it is greatly appreciated when a member saves us the trouble of merging those posts and uses the multi-quote option to begin with.

I hate that I haven't had a day that nice in a long time! But I'm glad you did.

Okay, for my big hatred du jour: People who don't pay attention to their surroundings. You know what I mean, the ones too busy messing with their iPods, texting or yapping on their cellphones to watch where the hell they're going. Drivers are worse; they'll apply makeup, yap on the phone, turn around and talk to someone in the back seat...while driving! Then of course, they freak out and act all picked on when they get into the inevitable accident. You are not the only person in the world. PAY ATTENTION!!!

Actually, speaking as a person who tries to never multi-post, putting all of them into one post makes life easier for me. I gather up all of the posts I'm replying to, do one big post, and be done. Neater, cleaner, I can avoid making seeming contradictions much more easily, etc.

Of course, I also tend to copy/paste into an external text editor, do my edits there, and paste back. I don't think most people do that, and that might be what makes the difference.

Specifically those made by Joss Whedon?

I hate console/video game fanboys who are so insecure in their fandom they feel the need to rag on other systems endlessly. (I had to listen to an FF7 fanboy at the game shop the other day while discussing the possibility of Squenix re-making FFVI for the DS with one of the employees. If there weren't other customers to witness, he and I may have gagged him. And I have one friend I never discuss the new games I pick up for my Wii around because he's a hateboy toward it.)

I also can't stand "otakus" who think Naruto and DBZ are the greatest animes ever. (This is from someone who liked DBZ when it aired, and enjoys watching Naruto occasionally.)

I can't stand, on MMO forums, Blind dev-haters or dev-fanboys. The devs do a great job, but that doesn't mean you can't say "hey, the bug where a defeated mob is getting off an extra attack is really annoying, and causing excess defeats for players."

Finally, I absolutely hate the people that say "online people aren't real people".

"Buffy" and "Angel" degraded into pure crap long before they were cancelled. I never got into "Firefly", so I wouldn't know about that one.

Buffy wasn't canceled. I dunno about Angel, I never got into it. I was referring to Firefly, yes, and also Arrested Development.

Arrested development wasn't created by Whedon. It was created by Mitchell Hurwitz.

Kalli never said it was. Arcade Man D asked if it was specifically Whedon shows.
