Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

I personally really don't get to invested one way or the other. Whatever milks your guernsey.

Of course, exceptions are made for genuinely funny comments, rather than just mocking.Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

I like reading about Norse myth, Egyptian too if it comes to that. However, I don't really see why anyone would follow either as a religion.
Regarding Egyptian; it's seriously sexy and has loads of great stories in it; however, my main beef with people who follow it is the whole "Osiris is Jesus" belief. -.-"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."

Well, pretty much every religion has some kind of "death/miraculous re-birth" story. Christians have Jesus, the Greeks had Dionysus and Adonis, and the Egyptians had Osiris. Although I'll admit that I've not done a lot of research in that area, only as it pertains to the Abydos Passion Play one of the earliest documented 'theatrical' performances.

I've heard more of Heru (Horus)/ Jesus comparisons than Wesir ones. *shrugs* I haven't bothered to do much research on that subject though. I believe that there are some beliefs that were borrowed by the early Christians, but not that there has to be a "Jesus" figure to follow my faith.

Originally posted by BroomJockey View PostNo, but usually, people are Christian first, and then get a persecution complex later. These "Wiccan'ts" feel persecuted, then go out and pick a religion that they think has a history of being persecuted-but would also freak out their parents-to justify it. They do no research, just "OMG WITCHES!"
