Well, we do prefer that if you're doing to "dis" something, that it be on a factual basis, rather than an "appeal to ridicule" basis, in keeping with the debate theme, so it's often better safe than sorry.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

Ah, gotcha. So it's not just those three religions, but topics in general, I take it? As in, you'd rather see a "I dislike [topic] because of [so and so reasons]" instead of "[topic] is stupid, amirite?"?

Yuppers. If you just say "X is DUM," and don't have any reasons, then someone's going to pick that apart, asking for reasons. If you don't have any reasons, and are saying it just to say that "X is stupid," then we don't really have a choice but to classify that as inflammatory.

Of course, exceptions are made for genuinely funny comments, rather than just mocking.

I like reading about Norse myth, Egyptian too if it comes to that. However, I don't really see why anyone would follow either as a religion.

Regarding Egyptian; it's seriously sexy and has loads of great stories in it; however, my main beef with people who follow it is the whole "Osiris is Jesus" belief. -.-
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."

Well, pretty much every religion has some kind of "death/miraculous re-birth" story. Christians have Jesus, the Greeks had Dionysus and Adonis, and the Egyptians had Osiris. Although I'll admit that I've not done a lot of research in that area, only as it pertains to the Abydos Passion Play one of the earliest documented 'theatrical' performances.

Same reason as people follow any other that they weren't born to. They find something in it that speaks to them on a personal level. I actually knew someone who was a follower of Egyptian mythology. Perfectly normal, you'd never know unless they told you.

But I like Charmed, although my "research" while watching Charmed is probably a little different.
I am a sexy shoeless god of war!
Minus the sexy and I'm wearing shoes.

There are actually people that follow the Norse beliefs for the most part. I don't know if they still offer sacrifices and such, though. I beef isn't really with people who study the religions and decide that it fits with their own beliefs, my beef is with people who hear or see something, then decide to follow it because it's cool, and not bother to even study it a little, because, you know, that would, like, take effort

Kemetic Orthodox here *waves*. If you study Egyptian religion, you'd find it's not so much about animal headed gods and mummies and that such stuff. There are core beliefs to it. I don't claim to know anything about Norse Mythology though, it's always been Kemet that called to me.

I've heard more of Heru (Horus)/ Jesus comparisons than Wesir ones. *shrugs* I haven't bothered to do much research on that subject though. I believe that there are some beliefs that were borrowed by the early Christians, but not that there has to be a "Jesus" figure to follow my faith.

Ragnarok is awesome! I love turning all my villagers into Heroes and then crushing my opponent.

That is why when people see my pentacle and as if I'm Wiccan, I tell them no I am "Pagan". I do not follow any particular religion, nor do I pretend to. I lean more towards Earth worship than anything else, but I am not "Wiccan". The ideals that I do follow go back way before Wicca was founded (in fact they are the fundamental ideals that all major religions preach). I am not a practicing anything and "Pagan" is a nice catchall word for those who don't know any better because most people relate the word with ancient beliefs and most think of Stonehenge.
