I absolutely hate it when someone's mind automatically jumps to the worst possible option in any given situation. It drives me insane when someone cannot be pleased.
My boyfriend's mother is like this. For example, no matter where you take her to eat she never ever says anything better than "it was okay" we almost make a game of waiting for her to say she doesn't like something, and god forbid you take her somewhere a little more expensive (and I don't mean fine dining, I mean like Olive Garden) or even suggest it, it's pretty much out of the question. She assumes the worst in every situation, and my boyfriend is starting to do that as well.
I can't think like that, not that I'm always optimistic, but I can't be pessimistic all the time. It's draining mentally.
As for people being cheap, it annoys me. I fully understand that some people can't afford expensive things, I for one can't, but there is being careful with your money and squeezing every penny until it screams.
People that complain over an item being 1 cent more than the sign need to shut up. I know someone who says that she won't pay more than $7 for a pair of pants, and was shocked when I said I'd be willing to pay $20, up to $30 if they were a great fit. Not all pants come from wal-mart. This same person buys every "deal" she finds, her house is crammed with stuff she got on sale. Whole sets of dishes that have never been used. You know what saves money? not buying stuff you don't need. Try not going to wal-mart for a couple days hey?
Sure I love getting a great deal on things, but I won't buy the shirt that's 5 sizes too big just because it's $1. Admittedly, I've purchased items of clothing that fit, but that I wasn't particularly excited about owning, I've tried to stop that habit. I've decided on only buying items of clothing I absolutely love, since I'm in the process of trimming down my wardrobe.
It also bothers me when people go on about how buying in bulk is so much cheaper. It can be, yes, but not when more than half goes to waste. My boyfriend loves costco, I do too, but for different reasons. He likes to buy food like it's for a family of 6 instead of just us two. I have to convince him every time, if it's something we're only going to use a couple times, it's cheaper to buy a smaller package.
Okay, maybe it's not necessarily cheapness, but pseudo cheapness that bothers me. Those people that go on about how expensive things are, but will spend tons of money on things they don't need, or even really want.
