This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I have a few coworkers and acquaintances (and they stay acquaintances for that reason) who are not the most feminine of girls.....which hey, is fine. Except for some reason, they have a huge problem with girly girls and have no reservations about being vocal about it.
It gets a little old after a while. I'll sit down for a smoke break at work and one girl says "So did you go shopping this weekend?" asked in a certain tone that just irks me.
No, I don't go shopping every weekend. I cannot afford to do that. No, I didn't go shopping. And if I say "No", which I usually do, she acts all surprised.
Then there's usually some comment like "Oh, I figured that's all you ever do....don't you have more closets than Paris Hilton?"
Or when it was the weekened before her birthday and she said "I'm going camping, but I don't suppose you'd come, blas, because you think the outdoors are gross."
Yes, you're part right....but that didn't mean I'd never go.....but since you had to be so rude about it, now I'm never going
Or if my coworkers and I are having a conversation about acne or skincare, girls like her feel the need to chime in and say "I never wash my face or use special products or wear makeup, I don't need that stuff!"
Well, aren't you special. I never said there was anything wrong with girls who are lower maintenance, but there's apparently a huge problem with girls who care about their appearance and use products and wear makeup.
