  • 112 degrees!

My love muffin's job forced her and a couple others to work in her fast food franchise with a broken air conditioner despite the heat.
The work area got to 112 degrees today. Despite virtually no customers, the higher ups refused to shut down early or at all.
    What the hell?!?

That's considered a dangerous work environment here in Ontario. She could still have been asked to work, but management would have been required to provide five minute breaks every half hour, or something along those lines (I'm not looking it up).

I'm sure your state has similar guidelines. Has she or any of her co-workers gotten sick with heat exhaustion?

You should send it to the Consumerist. (yeah yeah). That got a similar situation with a super cold pizza parlor fixed.

        OSHA. Now.

Businesses hate dealing with OSHA and the business makes good real quick.

Ugh, holy shit. Thank goodness today was my day off, I still got in a full sweat clipping my horse around 6 this evening because it was still over 100 at that point.
Can't wait until it cools down

According to their website comfortable temperature is only suggested, not mandated. I was surprised to read that. It would be perfectly legal to demand an employee work in an oven at 375 degrees alongs side a baking cake and a couple of potatoes..
