Yep, the vast majority of tourettes' have uncontrollable muscle tics and vocalizations. Only in the movies is the much rarer form of copralalia, or uncotrollable swearing, common.
My medication works for a minor anxiety tic I used to have. So many mental illnesses are related.

What's really weird is how a trial med worked perfectly for one and a half weeks before severe side effects appeared. It reminded me of just how different and relaxing normal really feels.

I've heard that talk therapy can help with bad habits accrued from a life of avoidance. It doesn't see to work very well for me. I already know all the techniques at calming oneself. They just don't work for me.
I've done the SSRI meds before and will never go back on them....they didn't work that well for me at all. I've also done talk therapy and finished that....I just need someone to kick me out of the house and force me to do something
