Wasps and Bees

I actually have a phobia about wasps, and I'm allergic to bee stings. However, I find that whereas a lot of people would sympathise with someone's arachnophobia, and happily squish a spider for them, the same people will bellow in rage if I do the same to a bee. -.-

I know that bees are useful, and that they pollenate flowers and all; I also know that if one stings me, I am going to be extremely ill so basically, it's them or me. Wasps I just have a horrible fear of to the extent that if one flies into the petrol station at work, I'm basically shaking in terror and running to the back room.

I sometimes hate summer cuz of both of these insects flying recklessly around the whole time; roll on winter. -.-

I won't squish a bee or wasp, out of fear that I'd miss and get stung myself. But I won't judge a person that squishes one.

My mom just showed me that we have a huge wasp nest in the tree in our front yard. I tried spraying it with Raid but its just too high up. It seems to work pretty well on bees so I figured it'd work on wasps too.

I'm a weirdo, I love the big fuzzy bumble bees. They were out in force today in mom's garden, so I had fun watching them go around her flowers and veggies.

However, wasps can go die in a fire. I pointed and laughed at the ones caught in the traps hanging off the decks today.

Bumblebees are cute, and they don't sting. So there's no reason not to like them.

There are other bees that sting, but the big fuzzy ones don't.

There were a few honeybees out, too. I'm glad, because I haven't seen many this year at all. Go honeybees, go!

Bees and to a lesser degree wasps will only sting if provoked.
But if someone has an allergy, then killing them is reasonable. Though wouldn't attacking them make them more likely to get away and sting?

I once rolled over on a wasp and didn't realize it had stung me. That is until it flew onto my crotch to stung, then flew up my leg and stung a thid time. Eventhough it didn't hurt, my anxiety made me panic and kill it with deoderant.

Wasps can get squished....I got stung on the bum once and it HURT!

I will never squish a bee, I like them too much, and I LOVE the big fuzzy ones....though they can be intimidating. Not sure how I'd feel if I was allergic

I sic my cats on spiders in the house.

I panicked like a proverbial little girl eventhough the stinging didn't hurt.
I've been bitten by bees enough times to know that the best way to avoid getting stung is to smell like pollen.

I find that standing still makes you more likely to be stung, by wasps at least. Bees have more to lose if they sting you.

I've never had that experience with wasps, and I've live in a area full of them. Maybe you smell like meat.
I must smell like aphids from how many times ladybugs have bitten me. I run from them more than from stinging insects.

I hate buggies...especially stinging buggies. Few things make me run away like a girlie girl...bees and wasps are at the top of the list!

Ladybugs bite?? I never knew that...they tend to find me and just crawl on me....I love them. Though I haven't seen many this year (nor have I seen many Monarchs or Praying Mantises)
