"Real" parents

A tricky term....

I am adopted. Those who adopted me are my "real" parents. Those whom gave me up are my biological parents. They are no way my "real" ones.


I just hate seeing the tern "real parents" apply to those that supplied the biology to make another human (in the context of adoption). Nope, sorry....its those who raise the child that are "real."

Just a rant....been seeing a few family related threads and thought I'd thrown in another

well if anyone ever asks if you want to find your "real" parents you can always say "nope I'm good with the imaginary ones thank you" or "real parents as opposed to artificial ones?" with a quizzical look

Best thing is, I've always known I was adopted.....try explaining to bunch of first graders that I knew mommy didn't give birth to me

Real parents are the ones that took care of you, raised you all those years. That is just my opinion anyway

Find them? they live in XXXX, always did... in fact, I was raised in XXXX right there with them...
