  • Rude!

I hate it when other people use the word "rude" when it's not really valid, because it smacks of superiority in the user of the word.

Sure, there are people out there who are generally rude, impolite and crass but just saying no to someone who has an outrageous request isn't "rude!"

Calling retail workers rude means you think they should kiss your ass or else they are behaving "above their station" and people who think that can kiss my ass. This isn't 18th century England, there are no classes in that sense, people who work in retail are just as worthy of human respect as anyone else. So don't be an asshole and call them rude just because they won't take your expired coupons or something.

So people who say, "rude", "unacceptable" or our favorite, "rediculous" can go and jump off a bridge together!!

    Just my two cents!!

Yeah, I've dealt with that bullshit my whole life. "Hey bend over backwards for me!"

    "Umm...no."

"you're so rude!!!!! you runnin' yo mouth! you runnin' yo mouth!"

It's people like that who fall under the "dickhead" class in that value of human life thread. Seriously, what good are they? I'm pretty sure that if they all vanished the world would be a better place.

Usually goes like this in my experience:

"Hey, lowly peon, will you bend store policy for me?"

      "Sorry, no."

      "You're so rude!"

      -.-
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."

        Quoted for truth!

So many times I've heard someone (usually haughty rich relatives) relate a story in which a sales clerk or cashier was rude -- "rude" in this context almost always meaning "uppity". Like they expected to be treated like a human being, or some such nonsense.
