Yep. Then when I do gain back the weight, they tell me I've gotten chubby.

Then when I say I want to lose weight "Oh you don't need to! You're fine the way you are!"

Then when I decide to have a cookie "Should you really be eating that? What size pant are you?"

    UGH

I think it's also a very prevalent behavior in rural families. My grandmother cooked like she was expecting 5 farm hands to show up for dinner.

I know for a fact that my Mom use to tell me that I need to lose weight then send me at least 8 boxes of girl scout cookies. I think she got the idea when I told her that my weight is my issue.

The holidays are horrible around my parents house. My mom will make at least double if not triple the amount of food needed and then at least 3 deserts with ice cream on top of it. I cannot eat just one plateful without my mom asking me if I want more food. If I say I'm full she looks at me like I'm lying.

From the sounds of it, Cat and RK are complaining about people who try to force-feed them as adults, and sometimes even after they've had a full meal.
I saw on TV I think they're now advertising Pedialyte as a nutritional supplement for kids who refuse to eat foods that are good for them, like vegetables. I guess it would make things easier while they're going through that stage. Although, I'd say you should still try to get them to try veggies.

No. It just preps the kid for when they lose all of their teeth.

Oh boy... my family.... >< EAT EAT EAT!

...I finally got to the point when I was about 16 where I just said "NO. I'm not hungry" Oh NO... that got them going... it was hell for the next 2 years

"Red, we are worried about you... you never seem to eat enough. Are you bulimic? ...Are you Anorexic? Do you have an eating disorder I know a good therapist." At which point I loved pointing out that I had just eaten a baked potato, two serving spoons worth of broccoli and Peas, four slices of my grandfathers turkey and gravy, AND a corn on the cob.. not to mention I still wanted dessert! ((or the equivalent... insert different meals for different occasions)) I simply do not have the stomach for 5 servings of dinner.

They have left me alone now that I am moved out and only see them when I choose to see them... still happens once in a while... but not nearly as much anymore.
