  • I have a hyperthyroid

Well, now I know why I've been eating even more than normal and still lost a lot of weight.
Since just about every single symptom hides in my already existing anxiety disorder, it was just a fluke that my doctor found it. He was just being thorough after meeting me. I don't have a goiter or swelling of any kind despite having a thyroxine level almost three times normal.
Had a lovely radioactive iodine test today. I hope to find out soon how "we'll" deal with it.

I hope everything works out for you. I think a positive way to look at this, is to say, "Well now I have an answer". I've watched a lot of episodes of Mystery Diagnoses on Discovery Health, and it's so upsetting when they can't find an answer for a long time, and the person has to suffer.

I was hyperthyroid. Now I'm totally hypo. I won't scare you with war stories, I'll just say...usually not a big deal, just regular medication.

PM me if you want with any questions

I didn't even know that I had an unswered question.
I just though my anxiety was getting a smidge worse, not that I had a completely unrelated medical problem.
