  • English people all have bad teeth

That is the assumption I've found that a lot of Americans seem to have. Which is fucking rich when you consider the teeth of a lot of the fucking inbreds in their own country.

I don't know anyone, personally, who has such bad teeth that they fit the stereotype. A lot of people, myself included, have fillings but that's a far cry away from having brown teeth with several missing.

I know this is a minor rant, but it's still irritating when some pillock on a message board's only comeback to something I say is to make a reference to bad teeth or Empire building. I don't mind the second reference, cuz it's true; or was at one point anyway. XD

I'm sure you have inbreds over there with bad teeth as well.

      We call ours chavs.

You're missing the point; I don't deny that there are people here with bad teeth, but a lot of Americans seem to assume that we all have bad teeth. We can get cheap dental care, you know.

        I wasn't missing the point.

To the point, I think I recall someone telling me that there was a time when the Brits were notorious for their less than stellar dental hygiene. Now TV and the media has magnified the issue. Have you seen Austin Powers? Family Guy? They all show it. So now it's just a stereotype that most sensible people know is just for a joke, but some people, because it's on TV, will think it's real.

You could say the same about lardy Americans, but I don't bring that up every time someone brings up a point I don't have a reply to. It's basically a cheap shot.

            I wasn't defending anyone.

Besides, while Americans are generally a bit hefty (heaver than Europeans, I'll admit), you guys as a whole aren't so slim and trim either.

You're still missing the point. I'm not going to bother replying any more since you're basically ignoring the point of my entire first post. -.-

Considering Lace has been talking about the stereotypes, I find this statement completely humorous in how far it seems to have flown over your head.

"British people have teeth no worse than Americans, look at your lcd for an example."

"Your lcd ain't that great either!"

"that was my point, it's like saying Americans are fat."

"You ain't exactly slim jims either!"
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

I addressed the point right here. The original rant was Lace Neil Singer (oddly enough, I've never fully read your name) is upset because Americans seem to have an opinion that the British have bad teeth. Then he said we have inbreds with bad teeth. He went on to talk about how he doesn't know anyone that fits the bill of the stereotype that Americans have of their teeth. I pointed out a reason why we may have the stereotype.

I don't see how I'm missing the point.

First of all, I'm a girl. Second, you are assuming that I don't know why there's a stereotype and posting a "teach your grandmother" type post. I do know. That doesn't make it right, and doesn't mean that my post is invalid.

Funny, I could have sworn that this forum was for people to post things they hated. Must have been mistaken.

Sorry I assumed you were a guy.

But, whatever. My first post was just out of anger on the inbreds comment. I don't take kindly to that. So, I, in a round about way posted that I hate comments about inbreeding. You took it further.

So in short, you decided to take a throwaway comment and blow it all out of proportion in order to completely derail my thread, just due to the fact that I am not psychic and could not read your mind and know this? You know, you could have just messaged me, and I would have edited my post accordingly if you really were upset and not just looking for an excuse to troll my thread.

Next time, kindly do that rather than take my thread completely off topic, especially as I was hardly being rude to you in my replies. I'm not going to waste my time in replying to any posts you make after this; I will simply ignore them as if they didn't exist.

Back on topic; I made my post after, yet again, some random guy on another forum decided that bitching about "bad teeth" was somehow going to make up for the fact that his argument lacked merit.

I also dislike posting about my fear of the dentist, only to have some smartarse post something like "Don't all English people fear the dentist?" -.-

Everyone needs to calm down, please.

If one is taking things personally when they are not intended as such, a short breather may be called for.

                          Back on topic. Thanks.
