    OK...that makes sense.

I was sitting here, doing it in my head, and I was thinking, "Yeah....I'm waking at 7, and it used to be 8," but then I started second-guessing myself on it, because I thought I was wrong after HYHYBT posted.
    Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

I think the one thing this thread's proven, beyond preferences for anything, is that above all else, DST is confusing.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

        Okay. I'm still confused.

Is standard time when it gets dark later or when it gets dark earlier? Like, we just switched a couple weeks ago to...is that standard or not standard?

Alls I know is we switched and now it's dark early.

Sorry to be so dense, I am having trouble with the "forward backward" concept. "set your clock back an hour" I more or less get. "lose an hour" I don't. Just tell me what we are in now.

Standard time in the winter. DST in the summer.

That's all you have to remember, other than "FALL back, and SPRING forward", which is a mantra I still need to repeat to myself twice a year when adjusting my clocks.

Same here. XD And of course, sod's law always seems to come into play when putting the clocks forward; I nearly always am working the following day, so lose a precious hour of sleep.

Sometimes I wonder if it's the battery companies that got them* to switch from recommending changing a smoke alarm battery once a year to changing it whenever the time changes. They actually last quite a bit longer than a year, and the alarm tells you unignorably when it needs one anyway...

Well, it's still a good idea to put in a fresh one with each time change. If there's still life in it, you can always reuse it in something that isn't quite so important.

I'd rather shell out for a fresh battery twice a year than find out my battery is dead when I really need it.
