"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -- C.S. Lewis

I have a feeling that some people would have a problem with the Lego collection downstairs, my model train setup, the sports car models in the office, as well as my DVD cartoon collection (Speed Racer, Robotech, etc.). To them, I say "don't like it? GTFO."

Can I come play lego's protege?
I have no problem being what some people consider "childish." Another thing my Ex always accused me of. (God, I really should have been the one to pull the plug on that relationship...hindsight...)
I love horses. Every once in awhile, I get one of those little silly craft kits just so I can make horsies. I could make them out of stained glass or some other such intensive project (I did go to college for art afterall) but, it's just fun to do something mindless, not challenging, and...cute!
Plus, since I have my art background, I can make them look as good or better than the examples on the box."Children are our future" -LaceNeilSinger

Come to think of it, I don't have very many hobbies or interests that people would consider "childish." I can't think of any off the top of my head, anyway.
The closest thing I can think of is that I sometimes like reading books written for kids and teens. In graduate school, I took a class on literature for school age children, and I had to read about 30 chapter books written for kids and teens. I really enjoyed most of the books, and so even after leaving that class, I have continued to check such books out of the library and read them on occasion. Those books usually feature high school kids or college-aged people, and for some reason, I tend to enjoy books and movies about people those ages as opposed to ones about older people.

I still read many of the juveniles I loved. And I've sought out others. Peter Pan, Mary Poppins and Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh stand in my bookcase right now along with three of the Oz books, the Phantom Tollbooth, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I also still have a number of Heinlein and Asimov juveniles around.

See here's the thing, I play video games, when I'm old and retired I'll have something to do instead of staring at the wall for hours. I won't have to sit on my lawn yelling at people because I'll actually be enjoying myself, when I can no longer walk or go anywhere I can still read a book or watch a movie. What will you be able to do mister adult?

I don't think video games are childish. Some of the stuff I've seen Mr. Boozy play is quite graphic and could be upsetting for kids. Just because something is recreational doesn't mean it's immature. Adults need to play, too.
There can be adult and kid-friendly versions of recreational activities. Just because children's movies exist doesn't mean that movies for adults don't. Sort of like the difference between "comic books" and "graphic novels".

This is the best thing about having nieces and nephews and little kids around. Finally, someone to play with! Oh my God, I cannot get enough hide and seek, okay? And if I could possibly play Red Rover without hurting them, yeah boy.
I have previously had a vague notion of opening a business that's a playground with the equipment sized up for adults. If nothing else, just for me. I miss the slides! And the ball pit, for god's sakes will someone get me a ball pit I can get buried in!
Also, I write fanfic, which to me is just a slightly more adult way of playing with my wrestling action figures. ...which I totally still do.
I'm sorry, I'm still a kid. A kid with a job and a car and bills, but yeah.

Neither of us really acts like we're nearing the 30 mark. Unlike most of our friends, we're unmarried, no children, no real responsibility... other than paying our bills and playing with our big kid toys (for him, his Harley. Me, my horse). Probably why we're still together after a year and still get along so well."Children are our future" -LaceNeilSinger
