I live in an all girls dorm. It wasn't my choice. I don't think I even put this hall down as a choice, yet here I am. I honestly do not get along very well with women my age. I find teenage girls to be obnoxious, screechy, self-centered drama queens. Not all of them are like that, but the good majority of the ones I met are like that. Yes, I bolded that one part for emphasis, so no-one thinks I'm talking about all teenage girls. I haven't had the best experience with girls for friends. Just before coming to school, the girl who was supposed to be my best gal friend totally ditched me and never even called to explain why. I digress.
So, I really hate my dorm hall. The girls here have no respect for what they have. We are one of two dorms that has a full kitchen on every floor and they get it all messy. They leave dirty things in there. They don't know how to wrap up their feminine products before throwing them away.
They also don't know how to keep quiet. There is a difference between conversation noise that is at a reasonable level that you can't help but hear it because of how close together everything and deliberately being loud.
Most of the girls here are fresh out of high school and haven't graduated to being a mature adult yet. They make fun of what people wear. For instance, I have a pair of slippers that look like "grandma slippers". I received them as a Christmas present one year and they were cheaply priced, so that is a present I got. They are comfy and keep my feet warm. I wore them as I was doing laundry one day and some of the girls pointed and snickered. They also make fun of what you wear to bed. Personally, I sleep in a t-shirt and sports bra. No pants. No undies. However, since I have a room-mate, I will not do that, so I at least put on a pair of sweat pants. Apparently, that's not right either.
So when it comes time to sign up for next year's housing, I get to choose what dorm and what room I get to stay in (only on certain days do I get to do this. There has been and upswing in students coming here, so they try to get sophmores out so they can house freshmen.). I am choosing the one next to me, the closest one to campus. A friend of mine lives there and I have been there so many times. The residents keep it clean and they are upper classmen and a heck of a lot more mature.
