So then, the internet jokes and posters saying, "The vagina...it's not a clown car" and comments such as, "Has the woman never heard of birth control?" are considered lenient?

I'm not necessarily talking about legislation on these issues, either, although just as there are certain sectors of society trying to block abortions and access to birth control, there are many countries who have made legislation on the number of children women are allowed to have, as well as forced abortions and forced birth control, and some people see that as a good thing, and progress for society.

My statement was more an observation about the attitudes of people who advocate that a woman's body is her own to do with as she pleases, yet these same people throw verbal barbs toward women who have a greater number of children than the society norm.

In so many cases I have seen, the general opinion is that the woman is a bit of a freak for wanting to use her reproductive organs as they were intended, yet a woman who decides she wants to block the use of her reproductive organs, or destroy the byproduct resulting from the use of those organs, does not have her mental state questioned, nor have jokes made that the vagina is not a refuse container, but gets the support and understanding of many more people in society.
    Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

If the childfree threads here on Fratching are any indication, it does seem that people who choose to block the use of their reproductive organs face some scorn. This hasn't really happened to me, but other people have said that they have been called selfish, cold, crazy, childish, etc. for choosing not to have kids or only have one.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I know it does.

What I have seen, though, is that some of those same people who back the childfree by choice and condemn the people who make those types of comments will also be among the first to laugh and poke fun and criticize the mutli-birth people.

That's where the double standard comes in.
