So we discovered this morning that there's a huge burn on the back of my computer chair. Guess who did that. We also discovered the cat's whiskers have been about sheered off. Guess again.

I know the obvious answer is "Hide the lighters better!" But that's just masking the symptom of what could be a larger problem. Same with the scissors.

At least he's not wetting the bed anymore.

How old is the person doing this?

Ah, but at least his frequent urinating could have doused the fires.

As far as lighting stuff on fire, remind the kid there's a time and a place for it and it's called college. Seriously, in one of my labs we had to light stuff on fire. Easy A.

Ignoring the fact that hiding lighters/matches and properly securing a firearm are on extremely different levels...

By all means, hide/secure the lighters and matches, but this is one of those things that needs to be dealt with and not just patched up (seeing as the preventative measures only prevent the consequences, not the situation) as son as possible.

          IMO, of course.

P.S. If it were a gun, same method that works with fire, applies as well. It's something to be avoided, and respected. Something to be feared in the wrong/incompetent hands, but manageable by those who know how.
