    Look, I know you see it as a pain in the ass. I thought taking Physics, Biology, Sociology, Psychology, and Algebra were a pain in the ass. Looking back, I gained something from each class, and I've even used some of it. Frankly, I would want accountants to have to take a few ethics courses.


    I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree. We're obviously seeing this from two different views, especially since you are talking from your past experience (which is where I am now). Personally, I don't see why all these things should be required. It's almost like they expect you to know everything to get any job. Maybe I will look back at them in the future and say "Hey, maybe that lit course did help me". I mean, hell, even if it doesn't have anything to do with accounting, I can see where psychology and philosophy can have importance. It's just that a lot of the stuff that is learned in one course can cover multiple topics. For a lot of those things you "must" learn, the bare minimum (at least that) can be taught in those fields.

    And I will agree with you that accountants should take ethics courses. I think it is covered in the major though, or at least in some of the advanced courses.
