  • Commercials With Annoying Kids

    On the radio and TV...

Maybe it's because I find children in general to be annoying, but I especially hate the commercials where kids are smarter than their parents and use that "know it all" tone of voice, or even worse, when they are meant to say words wrong just to sound "cute"......

There's a commercial on the radio here about water filtration or something like that, and this annoying little kid (can't even tell if it's a boy or girl) is using the "I know everything" voice, preaching about germs and bacteria in tap water (of course saying the words wrong) and educating the parents of the area about how bad the water is alone and that you need to buy this system to make your water cleaner.

Then there's the commercial on TV where this annoying little girl is wearing a lab coat and big glasses, again using that voice and saying words wrong, talking about how dirty the air is, and how moms and dads NEED to buy this air filter system, and if they don't? "If your mom and dad won't buy it, hold your breath until they do! Maybe they'll get the point!"

    Stupid and annoying.

Agree! I can't stand those commercials! I especially hate the radio ads where you can tell they didn't even get a real kid to do the voice over; it's clearly an actor/actress whose voice they modified to sound like a kid.

Ick! We have one around here for oil heat (although in that particular ad I think the Mom character is a lot more offensive than the child). There's another one on the air about quitting smoking, and the child's voice is OBVIOUSLY just something remixed. It's horrible.
