  • Lots of things at once

For some reason I didn't get paid friday even though I'm supposed to get a check. Still waiting. Yesterday the baby got ahold of the cellphone and dropped it into a full cup of coffee. Coffee with milk and sugar. The phone still works, but the buttons are all sticky and sometimes pushing one will do something completely different. You can't call people because Send acts like backspace, so dialing 555-1234 will dial 555-123. I'm tempted to take the battery out and just wash the thing. I dunno if there's another source of power in that would short it out when I do that though.

And we can't keep tires on the car. A lot of it is the alignment, but alignments are expensive, and with the condition of the roads around here they don't last long either. One good pothole and you're back to square one. Had a flat tire in the middle of the woods the other night, and now even the little donut has just randomly gone flat.

And I had to go back on unemployment cuz my job ended, made the necessary calls and was told I could start up again this week, but just checked online and it says I'm not eligible. So now I have to call them and find out why, because they don't have e-mail, but they also have like 2 phone operators and they're always busy. And I can't just call them, I had to save their number in my contacts, and if I push the button for contacts enough times, eventually it'll actually go to the contacts, and then I can search for the name and hopefully the middle "select" button will work so I can dial the number. And if it actually works and I can dial the number and it rings and then I get a message that says "All our operators are busy right now". Not "You need to wait for 15 minutes" just "Call back later."

And just got a call saying our internet is going to be shut off soon

    Phone fix

Your phone might be an easy fix - remove the battery and let it sit for 12 hours. Get some denatured water (available at any kind of drug store for ~$1), then soak the phone in it for a couple of minutes. Let the phone air-dry for a day or two, and it should be all good. Water kills electronics because it creates unwanted circuits - denatured water leaves no residue, and removes the goo that coffee and sugar leaves.

I was thinking of rubbing alcohol - would clean it and wouldn't hurt the electronics would it?

glystar, do you mean deionized water? DI water theoretically has no charge to it so electricity cannot technically move through it. Good for this situation.

Alcohol, probably not as good idea cause it's a lil bit corrosive.
