For the record, I haven't been cheated on.
So I have this guy on facebook that I worked with at my last job. I got along with him pretty well, we talked occasionally on breaks and such, but never really saw eachother outside of work unless he came with a bunch of us after work to get breakfast or something (we worked nights). He's also married, and it doesn't seem like there are problems there from the wall/picture comments on facebook, and I realize this isn't always a sure thing, but still.
So anyway, I never once gave him any indication that I was interested in him, not only is he married but he's at least 10 - 15 years older than me and I'm in a common-law relationship, and I've been with my boyfriend for well over 6 years now. I know I've mentioned that to him, since my boyfriend is a big part of my life. So I had this guy on facebook and he would message me now and then, or comment on my status/links etc. all completely normal comments, and the messages were usually "hey how are things?" or some such. Then last week He sends me a similar message but the subject is "hey Gorgeous", now I assumed it was just a friendly thing, because I do have friends that say things like that to me and me to them. Given most of them are girls or gay, but still.
Then in subsequent messages he starts saying how hot I am, which admittedly was flattering, and it wasn't over the top, so I was still thinking friendly (I tend to give the benefit of the doubt), and he asks if he can text me. I say sure, still assuming it's platonic. Then after a couple normal texts he says "do you think your boyfriend would mind me hitting on you?", I was like "Uh yeah, of course he would" or something along those lines. Then even after that he asks if I want to go on a date with him next time he's in town, right there I said outright "This is inappropriate, I have a boyfriend, if you would like to be friends then maybe the three of us can go and do something together, other than that no." I'm paraphrasing.
He responds back that he's a bit hurt but understands, and how he's liked me since the moment he met me. Which mildly creeps me out. Not because he's not a nice guy, but because he's married and a lot older than I am.
My boyfriend then e-mailed him after I told him about this stuff and he was none too pleased about the situation (my boyfriend that is).
I just don't get how I attract this stuff! It was so out of the blue and random, I mean I got along with this person, but I never had any feelings like that. Nor do I think I'm so attractive that guys are falling all over themselves for me, they aren't. I never tried to lead him on ever. *sigh* So is my life I suppose.
